Essential Questions:

  1. Why is it important to learn the geography of Europe?
  2. How does learning about a country help you understand its history?
Learning Objectives:  Students will be able to

  • Think critically and creatively
  • Collaborate with others effectively
  • Produce quality products as a result of their research
HOHAM: Evidence and Integrity

In small groups Students will create a map of the Europe based upon artistic representations throughout history. Each student will be assigned 4-5 countries to research and develop a theme that represents that state. Themes will be inspired by flowers, flag, animals, slogans, famous people born there, inventions created in that country, sports teams, monuments and historical places/persons. Students should refer to five themes of geography.

Students will become an expert on four-five particular countries

General Information (population, natural resources, climate, elevation, flower etc.)

Cultural Information (history, famous people, places to visit, slogans, trivia, sports, etc.

Economic Information (chief products, manufacturing, agriculture)
